chargecloud and Chargia implement reference project for large-scale charging infrastructure in Spain
Shopping-center charging park with 240 charge points centrally operated via the chargecloud Operating System (OS)
NEWS 17.12.2025
Barcelona, 17 December 2025: One of the largest charging parks at a retail location in Spain will be renewed. To operate the charging site at the Oasiz shopping center in Torrejón de Ardoz near Madrid, Charge Point Operator (CPO) Chargia relies on the e-mobility ecosystem provided by chargecloud. The charge points are fully integrated into the modular SaaS ecosystem and are centrally controlled, monitored, and billed.
With 240 charge points - primarily AC units supplemented by DC infrastructure - Oasiz is among the largest contiguous charging sites at a retail location in Spain. The charging park is spread across eight zones of the shopping center, including three outdoor areas and five indoor parking sections. The spatial distribution, the high number of charge points, and the continuous flow of visitors pose specific requirements for operational management and system stability. Integration into the chargecloud OS enables unified handling of technical operations, energy-related processes, and invoicing.
Chargia, a Spanish technology company, acts as the charge point operator (CPO) and focuses on the operation of the charging infrastructure. Its AI-powered conversational assistant helps EV drivers and CPOs obtain reliable information from chargers, monitor charger status in real time, guide users during charging sessions, and resolve incidents efficiently. Charging locations can be easily found through Chargia’s AI assistant, as well as via Google Maps, Apple Maps, and chargecloud’s roaming partners.
Further expansion of e-mobility in Spain
The Oasiz project serves as a pilot site for the growing electrification of large retail and leisure locations in Spain. The combination of a high-traffic environment, substantial charging demand, and extensive spatial layout places high demands on scalability, resilience, and transparent operational processes. By integrating with the chargecloud OS, Chargia can manage operations centrally while also using data to support the further development of its service offering. The site also serves as a development environment for Chargia’s AI-driven assistance tool, which supports users during charging sessions and provides troubleshooting guidance.
“For chargecloud, cooperating with Chargia is an important step in a market that is rapidly professionalising and increasingly implementing large-scale infrastructure projects. The Oasiz project demonstrates how complex charging parks can be efficiently managed when software and operator processes are closely aligned,” says Joel Martin, Country Manager Spain at chargecloud España. “We are pleased to contribute to this development and look forward to realising additional sites in Spain together with Chargia.”
“We chose to work with chargecloud because we needed a reliable partner with strong technical expertise – someone capable of supporting both current and future operational requirements,” explains Eduardo Medina, CEO of Chargia. “Integrating into the chargecloud ecosystem provides a foundation for advancing our own developments, particularly our AI-based solution designed to support e-mobility users. We see this as an important step towards making electric mobility in Spain more user-friendly and accessible.”
Based on this initial joint project, Chargia plans to further develop its AI-driven assistance tool and deploy it at additional sites. The combination of a modular operating platform such as the chargecloud OS and a data-driven assistance system is expected to help standardize operational processes and support the efficient implementation of new projects. Both companies anticipate that the integration into the chargecloud ecosystem will open up additional applications and partnerships that will support the expansion of user-oriented charging infrastructure in Spain.
