Success Story
chargecloud × ChargeHere
From 300 to over 3,000 charge points: full service for parking & charging in semi-public spaces

The holistic charging solution
ChargeHere is a wholly owned subsidiary of EnBW and has been active in the e-mobility market since 2017. The company develops and operates charging infrastructure for customers in the corporate, real estate and residential sectors, wherever parking and charging come together in semi-public spaces. Through its integrated approach, combining hardware, software, operational services and charging tariffs, ChargeHere offers tailored charging solutions from a single source. What sets ChargeHere apart is the combination of the stability of one of Europe's largest energy groups and the working style of an agile e-mobility team with direct customer contact.

Starting with clear goals
In 2017, ChargeHere entered the full service business with a clear ambition: not just to install charging infrastructure, but to operate it over the long term for customers whose requirements were complex from the outset.
A typical scenario is a site used by both employees and guests, with different tariffs and separate user groups, and the goal of clean, transparent billing. For use cases like this, what was needed was not a simple administration tool, but an all-in-one system that reliably maps this complexity from the outset and without compromise.
chargecloud was the answer, and it remains so to this day.

Going all-in requires an all-in-one solution
Starting from scratch, you have two options: pilot cautiously or go all-in right away. With chargecloud, ChargeHere laid the operational foundation for a large-scale build-out of its full service business. Billing, tariff management and user group management ran on chargecloud OS from the very beginning.
And those who bet everything on one card can win or lose. As the business grew, so did the complexity of the requirements that had to be managed. But with chargecloud, ChargeHere was well positioned. Internal roaming is a particularly relevant example for the customer structure. Although different customer areas run strictly separately in the system, each with its own tariffs, access rights and billing, EV drivers can charge across sites. One charging card works everywhere. For charging customers, this stays invisible. For ChargeHere, it is a decisive operational advantage.
Fault reports are automatically routed to the responsible contact: no manual forwarding, no lost tickets. For EnBW, chargecloud delivers individually configured reporting generated directly from the system. And via the chargecloud Asset API, sites, charge points and connectors are fully integrated into ChargeHere's own systems, including OCPP monitoring for current operational status.
chargecloud OS has not only delivered ChargeHere stable operations, it has also brought structure to day-to-day work. Recurring processes run automatically, and organizational effort remains low despite complex use cases.
"Before working with chargecloud, we faced the challenge of billing different user groups at one site with different tariffs. With chargecloud, we were able to solve exactly that, and provide our customers with a transparent, tailored billing solution."
